It’s time to get to know another one of our colleagues, this month… Naimh Guthrie!

Q. What’s the best concert you’ve been to?

I’d have to say when I went to go and see George Ezra with my family, as we have always loved him which meant it was really lovely!

Q. What’s the best place you’ve travelled to?

Mexico was one of the best places I’ve visited, we stayed right on a beach and saw dolphins every morning and evening, as well as going to a turtle sanctuary (very cute!)

Another fab place was Lake Como in Italy, which was so stunning, and the food was so good (Italian food is the best!!)

Q. What’s something you’re proud of?

Finishing both my undergrad and masters during the pandemic!

 Q. What’s your favourite food?

Carbonara, I don’t think you can go wrong!

 Q. What show are you currently binge-watching?

Quite a few – Wednesday, Greys Anatomy and the Handmaids Tale (all very different)

 Q. Have you ever met anyone famous? Who/when/what did you do?

I haven’t actually!

Q. What’s your favourite thing to do on the weekends?

Definitely doing some cooking, seeing friends and family and going out for drinks!!

 Q. What’s your favourite season?

I love summer, but winter is probably my fave as I absolutely love Christmas!!

 Q. What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

Something to listen to music on, something to sleep on and something to keep myself warm! (boring but practical haha)

Last month…

Brad Mauel-ffinch

Q. What’s the best concert you’ve been to?

A. I’m a lot older than most people think so you may be surprised to hear my favourite concert I ever went to was “Reading 1992” – a 3 day festival – where I saw Nirvana, Public Enemy and the Smashing Pumpkins

Q. What’s the best place you’ve travelled to?

A. Well Bristol is obviously in the top 10 but number one is without doubt The Maldives – its incredible. Never seen anything like it and it has actually spoilt every holiday I’ve had since as nothing lives up to it.  Beautiful place.

Q. What’s something you’re proud of?

A. Obvious answer but my kids

Q. What’s your favourite food?

A. If I had to only eat one type of food forever it would be Thai – absolutely love it.

Q. Do you have any hidden talents or hobbies?

A. Yes I have many hidden talents one of which is a weirdly good memory for completely useless bits of information. For example, I can recite my entire class register, from school (30 years ago) in order. Which, to date, has provided zero use or benefit of any kind

Q. What show are you currently binge-watching?

A. Stranger Things – and its brilliant I love the 80s nostalgia and music

Q. Have you ever met anyone famous? Who/when/what did you do?

A. Yep I’ve met quite a few, working in events you often get chance to. One stand out was about 8 years ago when I got to spend the entire day with Rachel Riley (off Countdown) when we were producing a video for the Times Education School Awards. She is quite something.

Q. What’s your favourite thing to do on the weekends?

A. I like to cook and actually find it quite relaxing. So I’ll cook most of the weekend, which is very nice for my family, but to balance things up a little I like to leave the clearing up to them – just so it’s fair

Q. What’s your favourite season?

A. Spring is definitely my favourite, when it starts getting lighter in the mornings.

Q. What three items would you take with you to a deserted island?

A. I saw a documentary with Ray Mears or someone saying that you need a knife, a fishing net and a box of matches to survive on a deserted island, but I don’t think I’d go that route I’d probably go for a Ninja air fryer, a home brewing kit and a small hovercraft

Thanks Brad!
