Equality and Inclusion Policy

Introduction

Our equality and inclusion policy outlines our commitment to equality and diversity, and how we will:

  • tackle equality issues
  • aim to eliminate discrimination
  • create good relationships between communities
  • ensure those from different backgrounds have equal opportunities

The Human Rights Act makes it illegal to discriminate on a wide range of grounds including ‘sex, race, colour, language, religion, political, national or social origin, association with a national minority, property, birth or other status’.

The case law relating to this right has shown that the term ‘other status’ includes sexual orientation, illegitimacy, marital status, trade union membership, transsexual status and imprisonment. It can also be used to challenge discrimination on the basis of age or disability.

The Equality Act 2010 sets out nine protected characteristics or equalities groups. The Act provides protection if you experience discrimination because of your:

  • Age
  • Disability
  • Gender reassignment
  • Marriage and civil partnership
  • Pregnancy and maternity
  • Race
  • Religion or belief
  • Sex
  • Sexual orientation

At ROAR B2B we take equality and inclusion very seriously. We aim to create a safe environment for all staff, stakeholders, visitors and exhibitors at our events and workplace. Everyone at our events and workplace are protected under the Equality Act 2010, and we actively encourage our staff at ROAR B2B to be inclusive and non-violent.

Discrimination

We do not accept any forms of discrimination and action will be taken if someone feels discriminated against.

Violence

We do not tolerate violence. Any violent behaviour will be dealt with via formal enquiry, and lawful action may be taken.

Safety

It is vital that everyone at our events feels safe and welcome. If for some reason you do not feel safe, please speak to a member of management.

We encourage that if someone witnesses any form of discrimination or violence, that they speak to a member of staff or management privately, and we will act immediately.

We will take immediate action if there is any discrimination and antisocial behaviour.

Lawful action may be taken if there is any violent behaviour.

Everyone at our events and workplace are entitled to the same opportunities regardless of background or ability.

At ROAR B2B we will do our best to ensure that everyone feels safe and that there is no discrimination at our events or at the workplace. We hope that everyone shares the same values, and we create a safe and welcoming environment for all.
