The Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated Event Sales Executive to join our dynamic Environment Team, working specifically on the Water, Wastewater & Environment Management Expo (WWEM).

Following the acquisition and merger of WWEM with our existing Water Resource Management Expo, we have now created the largest dedicated water industry event in the UK. The show has already surpassed last year’s revenue total in the first five months alone, marking it as one of the most exciting and high-growth opportunities in our portfolio.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a results-driven individual who thrives in both relationship-building and proactive business development. You’ll be selling exhibition space, sponsorship, and speaking packages to clients across the water and environmental industries, with a strong focus on generating new business through proactive outreach and high-quality conversations.

In addition to telesales, the role includes attending domestic and international industry events, allowing you to meet clients face-to-face, network, and deepen your understanding of the sector. Travel is both an opportunity and expectation, depending on campaign needs.

At ROAR, we’re committed to excellent customer service, and helping our clients achieve their goals is at the heart of everything we do. If you’re confident on the phone, commercially minded, and excited by the chance to be part of a fast-growing show in a critical industry, we’d love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prospecting - Identifying and pre-qualifying potential new customers and closing new business to hit growth targets outlined in the sales plan.
  • Understanding our customers’ business to deliver pertinent packages to meet their requirements.
  • Developing strong product knowledge regarding all ROAR events, including demographics, content focuses, and customer profiles.
  • Hitting activity targets, which include CRM and telephone targets.
  • Demonstrating excellent forecasting skills as and when required
  • Negotiating and maximising the potential of all sales transactions
  • Utilising the full mix of telephone, email, and, when required, face-to-face sales channels.
  • Being fully aware of the competitive event and media landscape
  • Administration - Maintaining CRM to a high level and ensuring all contract paperwork and show floor plans are accurate and current.
  • Liaising with marketing and operations to ensure the packages are delivered to expectations.
  • Assisting with credit control issues as required
  • Being an ambassador for our company, maintaining high personal standards and levels of customer service
  • Building strong market knowledge through monitoring websites, reading publications, speaking to customers, attending events, etc.

What’s Required to Succeed as a Sales Executive?

  • Success in delivering targets.
  • Knowledge of the trade show industry preferred.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Strong customer focus
  • Strong self-starter with exceptional negotiation and closing skills.
  • Strong communication (verbal and written), judgment, and listening skills.
  • Must be creative; offers a fresh perspective and new ideas, and can think out of the box.
  • Basic computer skills in Excel and CRM (HubSpot)
